Though we are involved with issues related to natural health & healing, we also know that the suffering of others has an impact on all of us. And the goal of good medicine is to help all people. Determinant of health related to feeling safe, having a home & adequate nourishment are essential for everyone. The stories and images in the media of refugee families are often heartbreaking. In these difficult times for so many people fleeing war, poverty and oppression, many of us are looking for ways to help. Finding local aid agencies in your area is one approach.
Another is to support the work of the UN High Commissioner for Refugees. From their website: The Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees was established on December 14,1950 by the United Nations General Assembly. The agency is mandated to lead and co-ordinate international action to protect refugees and resolve refugee problems worldwide. Its primary purpose is to safeguard the rights and well-being of refugees. Read how you can support their efforts here.
